Sewing patterns (PDF)
How do I get my pattern after buying?
Digital patterns are delivered instantly. After payment you will find the download link:
- on the order confirmation page,
- in your order confirmation email,
- in My account → Downloads (if you created an account).
There is no shipping for digital products. If you cannot find the email, check your spam or promotions folder.
What files do I get?
Each pattern comes as a PDF with the pattern pieces and step-by-step instructions. Some patterns also include an SVG file for cutting machines. The product page lists exactly what is included and which doll body types the pattern covers.
A4 or US Letter - which paper should I use?
Our patterns print correctly on both A4 paper (Europe and most of the world) and US Letter paper (USA and Canada). Some patterns come as one universal file that fits both sizes; newer patterns include separate A4 and US Letter versions - then use the one that matches the paper in your printer. The product page says which applies.
How do I print the pattern at the right size?
This is the most important step - a pattern printed at the wrong scale will not fit.
- Open the PDF in a PDF reader on a computer (for example Adobe Acrobat Reader), not in a web browser preview.
- In the print dialog choose Actual size or 100% scale. Do not choose “Fit to page”, “Shrink to fit” or any scaling.
- Print one page first and check the size. If the pattern has a calibration square (newer patterns do), measure it with a ruler - it should be exactly the size printed next to it. Otherwise compare a measurement given on the pattern with your ruler.
- If the size is correct, print the rest of the pattern with the same settings.
My printed pattern is the wrong size. What now?
Check that scaling is set to 100% / Actual size and that “Fit to page” is switched off. Some printers also have their own scaling setting in “Printer properties”. Printing from a phone or a browser often changes the scale, so try a computer with a PDF reader.
If it is still slightly off, adjust the scale in the print dialog (for example 101% or 99%) until it measures correctly, and use that setting for all pages. Still stuck? Email us the measurement and your printer model and we will help.
Can I print from my phone or tablet?
Sometimes, but phones and tablets often resize PDFs without telling you. If you print from a mobile device, always check the printed size before cutting fabric. The safest way is to download the file to a computer and print from there.
Is seam allowance included?
Yes, seam allowance is included in our patterns - just cut along the cutting line. Newer patterns show both the stitching line and the cutting line, with a 3 mm (about ⅛ in) seam allowance. The instructions explain how to use the lines.
Do I need a sewing machine? What skill level is needed?
Each product page shows the skill level. Most of our patterns are beginner-friendly, and many can be sewn by hand - a sewing machine makes it quicker but is not required. You will need thread, a needle or sewing machine, sharp scissors and pins. Some patterns are no-sew designs.
Which fabrics work best for doll clothes?
Thin, soft fabrics are easiest at this small size. For fitted pieces like leggings and tops, use a stretchy knit (jersey, spandex or lycra) - the same kind of fabric used for sportswear. For dresses and skirts, light cotton, viscose or chiffon drape best. The product page recommends a fabric type for each pattern. Thick or stiff fabrics make doll clothes look bulky.
Can I sell clothes I make from your patterns?
Yes - in small quantities. You may sell doll clothes you have sewn yourself, by hand, from our patterns (for example at craft fairs or in your own small online shop). When you sell them online, please credit “Pattern by DiNerija”. Mass production and factory production are not allowed.
Can I share, resell or copy the pattern?
No. Each pattern is for the personal use of the person who bought it. Please do not share, forward, resell, upload or publish the files or printouts, in whole or in part, and do not use them to teach classes or workshops without our written permission. For a wider licence (classes, larger production), write to us. If a friend would like the pattern, please send them to our shop - it helps us keep making new designs.
Do download links expire? Can I download the files again?
Your download links do not expire. You can download your files again at any time from My account → Downloads or from the link in your order email. If you bought as a guest and lost the email, write to us and we will resend the link.
The file will not download or open. What should I do?
Try a different browser, or download on a computer instead of a phone. Make sure you have a PDF reader installed. If the SVG file is in a ZIP folder, unzip it first. If it still does not work, email us your order number - we will send the files directly. Faulty files are always fixed or refunded.
Printable paper dolls
What are articulated paper dolls?
They are printable paper dolls with movable arms, legs and sometimes heads. You print them, cut out the parts and join them with small paper fasteners (brads), so the doll can move and pose. They are a fun craft to make and play with at home.
What paper should I use?
Use thick paper or card stock, about 160-250 g/m² (60-90 lb cover), so the parts are sturdy. Check the maximum paper weight your printer can take before printing. Photo paper also works for bright colours.
What else do I need?
- a colour printer,
- sharp scissors (and a craft knife for small holes, used by an adult),
- tiny brads (split pins / paper fasteners) - sold in craft and stationery shops,
- optional: a hole punch or a thick needle to make the holes.
Which paper size are the paper dolls made for?
Our paper doll files are made to print at 100% on both A4 and US Letter paper. Print at “Actual size” for the intended doll size.
How many copies can I print?
Paper dolls are for personal use: you may print them as many times as you like for yourself and your family. Please do not sell or give away printed or digital copies, and do not share the file. For other uses (for example a class or an event), write to us first.
Can I make the paper dolls last longer?
Yes - laminate the printed sheet before cutting, or cover it with clear self-adhesive film. Laminated parts are much more durable if the dolls are played with often.
Dollhouse furniture and accessories
What is the difference between 1:6 and 1:12 scale?
Scale tells you how big an item is compared with the real thing:
- 1:6 - 1 cm on the model is 6 cm in real life. This is the scale of 11.5-12 inch fashion dolls and 12 inch action figures. A 1:6 chair seat is about 7-8 cm high.
- 1:12 - 1 inch on the model is 1 foot in real life. This is the classic dollhouse scale, for dolls about 5-6 inches (13-15 cm) tall.
Most of our furniture is 1:6. Some accessories, such as doormats and display cubes, also come in 1:12 - choose the size on the product page. The measurements of every item are given in centimetres and inches in its description.
What is the furniture made of?
Our furniture and accessories are cut from 2.5-3 mm MDF or HDF (wood fibreboard). Some hangers are made from natural birch plywood, and doormats from natural cork. All pieces are designed and made in our studio.
Does the furniture arrive assembled?
Usually yes - most furniture is sent assembled and ready to use. Some pieces are also offered unassembled (a flat-pack kit you put together yourself) - if so, you can choose the option on the product page. Unassembled kits are a good choice if you want to paint the pieces before assembly.
What do I need to assemble an unassembled kit?
Furniture or wood glue, and a few minutes. The parts slot together; glue makes the piece sturdy. Let the glue dry fully before use. Fine sandpaper is handy if you want to smooth the edges.
Can I paint the furniture?
Yes. Unpainted (brown) pieces can be painted any colour. MDF and HDF can swell when they get wet, so we recommend non-water-based paints, such as spray paint, applied in thin coats. Try the paint on the back or underside first. If you prefer, choose a ready-painted colour where one is offered.
How sturdy is the furniture?
Our furniture is made for collectors - for display, dioramas and doll photography. It holds dolls well, but thin parts - such as hangers and chair backs - can break if bent or dropped. Please handle them with care.
Can I order a doormat with my own text?
Yes. Our cork doormats come with several ready designs, and we can also make one with your own short text - for example a family name or a house name. Email us the text before ordering, and we will confirm how it fits. Personalised items are made to order and cannot be returned for a change of mind (see Returns & Refunds).
Fit and sizing
Which dolls do your patterns, clothes and furniture fit?
Everything we make is designed for 1:6 scale fashion dolls such as Barbie®, dolls about 11.5-12 inches (29-30 cm) tall. This is the most common size of fashion doll, so our patterns, clothes and furniture work with many doll lines from different makers.
Bodies differ between makers and even between editions of the same doll, so the most reliable way to check is to measure your doll and compare it with our Size Guide.
What is the difference between Regular, Curvy, Petite and Tall?
These are the four most common body types of 11.5-12 inch fashion dolls:
- Regular - the classic slim body (bust about 12.7 cm / 5.0 in, waist 9.1 cm / 3.6 in, hips 13.2 cm / 5.2 in).
- Curvy - fuller bust, waist and especially hips (about 13.3 / 10.4 / 15.3 cm, or 5.25 / 4.1 / 6.0 in).
- Petite - a shorter, smaller body (about 27 cm / 10.5-10.75 in tall).
- Tall - a taller body with longer legs (about 31 cm / 12-12.5 in tall).
Full measurements are in our Size Guide. Each sewing pattern lists the body types it was fitted on. Ready-to-ship clothes are one-of-a-kind pieces, and each listing names the body type it was sewn for.
How do I find out which body type my doll has?
Measure the bust (fullest part of the chest), waist (narrowest part) and hips (widest part) with a soft tape measure or a strip of paper, and compare the numbers with the table in our Size Guide. The hips usually tell the difference most clearly.
Still not sure? Email us a photo of your doll standing straight, with the measurements, at mbdinerija@gmail.com - we will tell you which size to choose.
Will Regular clothes fit a Curvy doll, or the other way round?
Usually not well. Our clothes are made from stretchy fabric, so a small difference is fine, but Regular clothes are often too tight on a Curvy doll’s hips, and Curvy clothes look loose on a Regular doll. Please choose a piece or a pattern made for your doll’s body type.
Do your clothes fit Petite dolls?
Yes, when the listing says so. Several patterns include a Petite size and some ready-to-ship pieces are sewn for Petite dolls; every listing names the body types it fits. If you are unsure whether your doll is Petite, email us its bust, waist and hip measurements (or a photo) at mbdinerija@gmail.com and we will help.
My doll has a jointed (articulated) body. Will the clothes fit?
Yes, in most cases. Our clothes are made of soft stretch fabrics, which move with jointed bodies and slide over knee and elbow joints. Fitted trousers and leggings can be a little snug over larger joints - if your doll has a bulky jointed body, send us the hip and thigh measurements before ordering.
Is a doll included?
No. Dolls are never included. The dolls in our photos only show the size and how the item looks when worn or used.
Doll clothes: materials and care
What are your doll clothes made of?
Mostly soft stretch fabrics - spandex, lycra and jersey - while some items, such as the denim dress, use other fabrics. Each product description names the fabric. All clothes are sewn in our studio in Vilnius, Lithuania, and seams are double-stitched so they last.
Do the clothes have Velcro, snaps or buttons?
No. Our clothes have no hook-and-loop tape, snaps, hooks or buttons. They are made from stretchy fabric and cut to fit closely, so they slip on and off easily. Without fasteners there is nothing that can scratch or press marks into the doll.
Will the fabric stain my doll?
Dark or brightly coloured fabrics may stain vinyl doll bodies over time - this can happen with any dyed fabric, especially in a warm or humid place.
We recommend not leaving dolls dressed in the same outfit for long periods: change outfits now and then and keep dolls away from heat and direct sunlight.
How do I wash doll clothes?
We recommend gentle hand washing. Doll clothes are small and delicate, so treat them like fine lingerie. If you are unsure about a particular item, email us and we will advise.
Are the colours exactly as in the photos?
We photograph our items in daylight and try to show the colours accurately, but screens display colours differently, so a small difference is possible. Our clothes are one-of-a-kind pieces, so the photos show the actual item you will receive.
Orders and payment
How can I pay?
You can pay by card or PayPal. All payments are processed securely by the payment provider - we never see or store your card details. Prices are in euros (EUR). If your delivery address is in the United States, you see and pay prices in US dollars (USD), and in the United Kingdom in pounds sterling (GBP), so your bank does not need to convert the amount.
Do your prices include VAT?
Yes. Prices for customers in the EU include VAT. For digital products, VAT is charged at the rate of your country, as EU rules require; the final amount is shown at checkout. For orders shipped outside the EU we pay the import duties and taxes, so there is nothing extra to pay on delivery (see Shipping below).
Do I need an account to order?
No, you can check out as a guest. Creating an account is optional, but it lets you see your orders and download your digital files again at any time.
Can I change or cancel my order?
Email us as soon as possible at mbdinerija@gmail.com with your order number. If your parcel has not been sent yet, we will change or cancel the order. Once it has been dispatched, you can still return it - see Returns & Refunds.
I did not receive an order confirmation email.
Please check your spam or promotions folder first. If it is not there, the email address may have a typo - write to us from the address you can use and include your name, and we will find your order.
Do you have discounts or sales?
From time to time. Shipping is always free, so there is nothing extra to add at checkout.
Shipping, tracking and customs
Where do you ship from, and where to?
We ship from Vilnius, Lithuania, to Lithuania, all EU countries, the United Kingdom, the United States and most other countries. We use Lietuvos paštas (Lithuanian Post), PostNL, FedEx, UPS, USPS and other carriers, depending on the destination. Shipping is free to every destination.
How much does shipping cost? Is there free shipping?
Shipping is free on every order, to every country we ship to, with no minimum order. The price you see is the price you pay. Digital downloads have no shipping at all. See Shipping & Delivery for delivery times.
How soon will my order be dispatched?
Orders are usually dispatched within 1-3 business days after payment is confirmed. Our items are handmade, so in exceptional cases it can take up to 14 days. If that happens, we will let you know. A doormat with your own text can take longer, and we tell you the expected time before you order. Digital downloads are delivered instantly.
How long does delivery take?
After dispatch, delivery usually takes 5-14 days. Sometimes it can take up to 30 days, and during the busy holiday season postal services can be much slower - please order early for gifts. Delivery times are estimates from the carriers, not guarantees. If your order is delayed, we will let you know.
Will I get a tracking number?
It depends on the destination and the parcel - we send orders with or without tracking. When your parcel has a tracking number, we email it to you after dispatch.
Will I pay customs duties or import taxes?
Within the EU there are no customs fees. For deliveries to the UK, the USA and other non-EU countries, we pay the import duties, taxes and customs fees, so you have nothing extra to pay when the parcel arrives.
My parcel is late or seems lost. What should I do?
If your parcel has a tracking number, check it first. If the parcel has not arrived within 30 days after dispatch - to any destination - or its tracking has stopped, email us - we will open a claim with the carrier and send your order again or refund you. Details are on Returns & Refunds.
How do you pack fragile items?
We pack furniture and accessories carefully to protect them in transit. If anything arrives damaged, send us a photo within 14 days and we will replace or refund it.
Returns and problems
Can I return an item?
Yes. You can return physical items within 30 days of delivery, without giving a reason. Tell us by email or with the online “Withdraw from contract” form, then post the items back. Return postage is paid by you, unless the item is damaged, faulty or wrong. Full details are on Returns & Refunds.
How long does a refund take?
We refund within 14 days after you tell us you are returning the items, to the payment method you used. We may wait until the items arrive back with us or until you send proof of posting.
Can I exchange an item for another size or colour?
We do not swap items directly. The quickest way is to return the item for a refund and place a new order for the size or colour you need.
My item arrived damaged or wrong.
We are sorry. Email us within 14 days of delivery with your order number and a photo. We will send a replacement or refund you, and we pay any return postage.
Can I get a refund for a digital pattern or paper doll?
At checkout you ask for immediate delivery of digital files and confirm that you lose the right of withdrawal once the download starts. But if you have not downloaded the file yet, we will refund it within 30 days. Faulty files are always fixed or refunded, and accidental duplicate purchases are refunded.
Custom orders
Do you take custom orders?
Only for a few items. Our doll clothes are one-of-a-kind pieces, so we do not sew to order or to measurements. We can make a doormat with your own short text or paint a furniture piece in another colour. Email mbdinerija@gmail.com with your idea.
How long does a custom order take and how much does it cost?
It depends on the item. After you email us, we reply with a price and an expected dispatch date. We start making the item after you confirm and pay.
Can I return a custom order?
Items made to your wishes, such as a doormat with your text, cannot be returned for a change of mind. If a custom item is faulty or not made as agreed, we will fix, replace or refund it. Please check all details with us before ordering.
Gifts, age and safety
Are your products suitable for children?
No. Our physical products - doll clothes, furniture, accessories and kits - are collector items for adults. They are not toys and are not intended for children under 14.
They contain small parts that could be a choking hazard. Please keep them away from young children.
Can I send an order as a gift?
Yes. Enter the recipient’s address as the shipping address at checkout. If you want to add a short gift message, write it in the order note.
Do you offer gift ideas for doll lovers?
Sewing patterns and dollhouse furniture make popular gifts. A digital pattern is also a good last-minute gift: it arrives instantly by email.
Wholesale and collaborations
Do you sell wholesale to shops?
Yes, we offer wholesale. Email mbdinerija@gmail.com with your shop name, country and the products you are interested in, and we will send you our wholesale terms.
Can I share photos of your products?
Yes, please. We love seeing our clothes and furniture in your doll photos. Tag DiNerija or send them to us by email. If you would like us to share your photo, we will always ask first and credit you.
Still have a question?
We are a small studio and every message is answered personally, usually within 1-2 business days. Email mbdinerija@gmail.com or use our contact page. If your question is about sizing, please include your doll’s measurements or a photo.
