Five looks from one no-sew doll clothes pattern
- Top: a halter shape with long ends that cross behind the neck and tie at the back.
- Skirt: a circle skirt that goes over the legs, sits at the waist and ties at the front or the back; it falls in soft folds on its own.
- Dress 1, tied waist: one piece over the head, tied with its ends or a ribbon at the waist.
- Dress 2, midi: cut from its own piece, longer and straighter.
- Dress 3, high-low: armholes to open, a hidden back tie, short at the front and long at the back.
Every piece in this no-sew doll clothes pattern is a single piece of fabric. There is nothing to match up or sew together, no glue and no fusible tape; every piece is held by its own ties or a ribbon. The download is a doll clothes pattern PDF plus SVG, so you can print it or cut it by machine.
Fits Regular, Curvy, Petite and Tall dolls
The no-sew doll clothes pattern fits all four 11.5 in body types: Regular, Curvy, Petite and Tall. The set has two sheets. Use the Curvy sheet for a curvy doll: her hips and waist are fuller, and a Regular waist opening will not go over them. Use the Regular sheet for Regular, Petite and Tall dolls; every piece is tied on, so the ties take up the small differences in height and waist. Barbie® Fashionistas and Made to Move™ dolls on any of these bodies wear these pieces. Not sure which body your doll has? The Size Guide shows how to tell them apart in a minute.
Skill level and supplies
- Skill level: beginner. Cut, wrap, tie. Children can do the cutting and the tying; the small openings are easier for an adult to start.
- You need: the printed pattern, fabric and sharp scissors. A pen or chalk to trace, and a ribbon for a belt if you like.
- Fabric: a soft knit works best. Knit does not fray, so the cut edges can stay as they are and the ties stretch a little when you knot them. A woven cotton works too, but its raw edges fray with handling.
Printing
Print the no-sew doll clothes pattern at 100% (Actual Size), not Fit to Page, on A4 or US Letter paper, and check the 1 cm and 1 inch marks on the sheet before you cut. The SVG files hold the same pieces at real size for cutting machines and vector programs.
